Question: Do we entertain audiences of advanced ages?

Answer: Absolutely!

Experience:

Our music goes over so well at assisted living facilities that even the staff tend to dance along! Matt McCallie has been entertaining at retirement communities for over two decades as a singer, guitar player, and violinist. Additional musicians can be added based on the available budget. An acoustic solo performance begins at $150 with rates adjusting for amplification and additional musicians and instruments.

Great American Songbook:

A tremendous amount of America's greatest music was written during the early and mid 1900s. The Matt McCallie Orchestra loves performing the hits of yesteryear for audiences with personal ties to music not often heard performed by contemporary artists. Broadway hits became jazz standards and hits for big band performers like Frank Sinatra, Ella Fitzgerald, Sammy Davis, Jr., and Nat King Cole.

Big Band:

The most popular ensemble to have entertain at retirement homes is a big band. Most big band music was written for a minimum of 18 musicians and definitely sounds best with a larger band. The Matt McCallie Orchestra can often provide a miniature big band with closer to half the traditional instrumentation for instances when the budget or floor space is limited.

Folk Music:

Often greatly appreciated by senior audiences, The Matt McCallie Orchestra also performs some of the greatest hits of the folk rock era by artists like John Denver, Peter, Paul, & Mary, Bob Dylan, James Taylor, The Beatles, The Association, The Mamas and the Papas, Jim Croce, and others.

Oldies:

We play dance music from nearly every decade dating back to the early 1900s to today's trending Top 40. Oldies, pop, rock, Motown, R&B, funk and Soul music sway audiences of all ages to dance. Songs like Jailhouse Rock, My Girl, Johnny B. Goode, All My Loving, I Can't Help Myself (Sugar Pie Honey Bunch), (Your Love Keeps Lifting Me) Higher & Higher, Knock on Wood, Proud Mary, Maybeline, Pretty Woman, Secret Agent Man, I Heard It Through the Grapevine, I'm a Believer, and many others can be performed by a solo singing guitar player or a band of various instrumentations.

Country:

The music of classic country artists are still well known and beloved by many generations. Almost all ages are familiar with the greatest hits by Johnny Cash, Willie Nelson, Hank Williams, Waylon Jennings, Woodie Guthrie, Dolly Parton, Randy Travis, Roy Rogers, George Strait, and John Denver.

Classical:

There are often musicians in the audience when we entertain assisted living facilities. Most often there are some very accomplished classical musicians. Our string quartet is a very popular option for all sorts of events. The Matt McCallie Orchestra St. Louis String Quartet performs traditional classical music as well as a few swinging jazz standards, tangos, themes from famous movies, Disney, country, and contemporary pop.

Patriotic:

Veterans often appreciate hearing patriotic music like the Star Spangled Banner, America (My Country 'Tis of Thee), and America the Beautiful. Many facilities celebrate July 4th, Independence Day and having live entertainment makes the occasion extra special.

Christmas Holiday Music:

We love playing Christmas music and have an excellent library of popular holiday songs for our orchestra, solo singer/guitar player, and our string quartet. We are happy to lead everyone in familiar sing-a-longs.
