nearly every style of music from the last few centuries,
we do it all with great authenticity.
Whether we're covering the smooth soul or funk of the '70's, classic rock from hair bands of the '80's, acoustic folk ballads from the '60's, swing from the Roaring '20's, the vibe of today, or even the contrapuntal polyphony of the classical greats
we do it all with equal conviction and musicality.
Choose your favorite songs, styles, and artists and we will gladly make suggestions for an instrumentation that
will sound amazing for all of your selections.

Our orchestra provides an impressive stage presence and an incredible sound unmatched by any other bands in St. Louis.
We combine our horn band with our strings section, rhythm section, and vocalist for a presentation much alike that of Michael Bublé, Tony Bennett, or Harry Connick, Jr.
Our orchestra can size anywhere from the mid teens to over twenty musicians. It is also our most versatile group able to play any song in our vast repertoire.
Our full orchestra performs amazing covers of nearly all popular styles from artists like Michael Jackson and Stevie Wonder to Justin Timberlake, Katy Perry, and Bruno Mars.
Also referred to as a swing band or jazz band, this band is a very popular option. Our clients love the way we perform the hits of the classic crooners and the amazing bands that popularized the new sound of jazz in the early and
mid twentieth century.
This band plays music made for dancing. We have a variety of tempos from lush ballads to roaring stomps perfect for swing dancing east coast, west coast, Lindy-hop, doing the Charleston, and other fun dances.
Our big band covers music by artists like Frank Sinatra, Bobby Darin, Nat King Cole, Michael Bublé,
Harry Connick, Jr., Glenn Miller, Henry Mancini,
Arturo Sandoval, Count Basie, Stan Kenton,
and The Tonight Show Band.
The Matt McCallie Orchestra's St. Louis string quartet has quickly become a favorite in St. Louis for it's huge variety of both classical and contemporary songs.
Our string quartet consists of a traditional acoustic instrumentation with two violins, a viola, and a cello. We can customize our strings group by providing
a trio, duo, or soloist.
Some of our musicians also play other instruments and can switch to guitar, piano, and sing accompanied by the strings. We are very versatile.
Since our string quartet is so special we have a page where you can learn more about it by navigating .
A horn band will usually have at least one trumpet, saxophone, and trombone. This type of band can cover a broad variety of jazz, Motown, R&B, disco, soul, funk,
and other popular styles.
Our horn band is an economical option for smaller events that want the excitement of a horn section and the high energy of upbeat dance music from artists like James Brown,
Wilson Pickett, Michael Jackson, and Stevie Wonder.
We love to rock! We love the energy of classics old and new by bands like Bon Jovi, Def Leppard, Aerosmith, CCR,
Eagles, and others.
Our full orchestra can provide an amazing rock band, the likes of which most people have never before seen! For smaller performances we recommend at least a three piece band with drums, bass, and a singer / guitar player.
If you're into the cool, smooth sounds of a small jazz combo and music by artists like Coltrane, Monk, Brubek, Davis, Parker, Mingus, and Gillespie, this is your band.
We have endless hours of music in multiple editions of the Real Book. A small group like drums, bass, guitar, and at least one horn is perfect for most jazz combo situations.
Most of our jazz combo music is instrumental but
can also include a vocalist.
Our jazz combo is very popular for classy events such as corporate functions, art galleries, dining establishments, charities, and cocktail hour.
Our most versatile soloist is a singing guitar player.
Nearly all of our popular styles can be performed by this artist acoustically or amplified for larger or louder audiences.
Solo string players, piano, trumpet, and sax are also popular options. A soloist or small group is an economical filler at weddings allowing clients on a budget to have live music during both their ceremony and all parts of their reception while saving up for a larger band for later in the evening.
